Francisco Javier Vélez replaced Aitor Cobanera as Managing Director of risk capital management company Sociedad Gestión de Capital Riesgo del País Vasco (SGECR) on 25 June.
He is qualified in Law, and specialised in Legal Economics at Duesto University. Mr Vélez has spent the last eight years of his career in legal counsel, business management and direct investment in products through his own company.
Prior to this, Mr Vélez, who was born in Bilbao in 1963, was attached to the Presidency of Grupo Guascor, a company with interests in renewable energies and environmental protection, private healthcare and industrial stockholdings. He started his working life at Arthur Andersen & Co.
