Capital Riesgo del País Vasco takes a stake in the capital of Ramón Vizcaíno, with a total investment of 4.5 million euros

Gestión de Capital Riesgo del País Vasco SGECR has invested 1.5 million euros, by taking part in the increase in capital recently carried out, and 3 million euros by granting some long-term participative loans.
SGECR has a 16.3% stake in the capital of the compamny based in the province of Gipuzkoa.
Ramón Vizcaíno has now completed the process of restructuring and financially reinforcing the company with a view to consolidating a profitable, sustainable project.

Gestión de Capital Riesgo del País Vasco SGECR, S.A. (a venture capital company), by means of its Ezten and Suztapen funds, has taken part in the increase in capital of the Ramón Vizcaíno company based in the province of Gipuzkoa, which concluded on 29 February last. With this investment, totalling 1.5 million euros, the company’s share capital now totals 9.2 million euros, and its capitalisation process has come to an end.

In total the investment accounts for 4.5 million euros, consisting of a 1.5 million euro capital subscription, carried out as part of the recent increase in the company’s capital totalling 2.5 million euros; and the remaining 3 million euros in the form of long-term participative loans which were made last December. With this investment, the aforementioned funds now have a 16.31% stake in the Gipuzkoa-based company, with the rest of the capital in the hands of the previous shareholders.

This investment has taken place in a company of Basque origin, which is the leader in its sector and is firmly committed to technological development for its products and focused on a market which is increasingly more demanding in terms of energy savings and respectful of the environment. The involvement of the company’s shareholders and the financial situation of the Ramón Vizcaíno Group, together with a solid Business Plan, based on growth and sustainable profitability, are the key elements which have led the Venture Capital Funds to back a company key to the Basque industrial fabric.

Ramón Vizcaíno, set up in 1942, currently has a professional workforce of 420 people and 20 offices all over Spain and 6 abroad. Its headquarters are located in Oiartzun, in the province of Gipuzkoa. The company specialises in solutions based on refrigeration technology applied to the handling of fluids and food processes, throughout the whole production chain: it designs, manufactures, installs and comissions refrigeration projects, operates a full maintenance and repair service and has amongst its customers the main Spanish firms in the food industry and industrial sector.
