Capital Risk Management from the Basque Country invests 2 million euros in Metagra, company devoted to the manufacture of cold

Bilbao, 29 October 2007. Capital Risk Management from the Basque Country, SGECR, S.A. has invested 2,239,656 euros, in Metagra (Metalúrgica Santa Engracia) which means a 25% stake in the share capital. SGECR have become part of the company located in Bergara (Gipuzkoa) for a period of seven years, through the Suztapen Fund, which is part public and part private.

Metagra is aimed at the fabrication of specialised cold formed bolts axles and fasteners. At the beginning of its activity in 1963, Metagra made an enormous leap in the industrial sector of fabrication of screws and specialised pieces, as they were pioneers in introducing cold forming into this technology. This new technology replaced the traditionally used metal working fabrication method.

The company manufactures fixing elements obtained by cold forming from carbon steel wire rolls with its main market being the OEM industry for the automotive industry and its auxiliary sector. It specialises in short and medium runs of technically complex pieces.

Risk Capital from the Basque Country is a company created in 1985 by the Basque Government, through the Sociedad para la Promoción Industrial (SPRI) and is aimed at capturing financial resources from public and private companies and managing and administrating it in funds and companies, which then enables it to be invested at a later stage in company projects by taking a minority share on a temporary basis.
